This is a talented group, with quick-thinking financial professionals, generating high-quality reports while working closely with the business. In this role, you will be responsible for: • developing and implementing process improvements, and documenting desktop procedures to achieve efficiencies • further developing the internal control framework • supporting the project control team by preparing project and cash flow statements • managing the accurate and timely recording of journal, accrual and prepayment entries across multiple (international) entities • monitoring and reviewing reconciliations and lead schedules for all project-related balances included in the accounts, as well as following-up on any open or unreconciled items • preparing and ensuring the accuracy of monthly management reports for stakeholders, in accordance with IFRS • supporting all documentation requirements, including proposals, budgets, contracts, relevant case files and correspondence • assisting with external audit requirements • helping with the completion of special projects (eg the ERP system implementation), ad hoc reporting, analysis requests and other tasks as assigned.
As a Corporate Financial Accountant at Sony you will be working in the Finance and Accounting Department, reporting to the Head of Statutory Reporting for the Western Region. In the West team, you will be covering the Dutch branch and holding activities. You work in coordination with multiple stakeholders (Treasury, Tax department, Head Office) to deliver the financial reporting. The reporting process plays a critical role within Record to Report (RTR), acting as a key contact point for the remote finance teams in the electronics business for the Region. The role implies responsibilities and accountability for all Statutory related finance matters within a country (The Netherlands). This role supports joint responsibilities within the West Region allowing for back up of each team member, and rotation of activities as well as developing knowledge on distinct areas to become a specialist across the region. Responsibilities: • Deliver accurate financial information (statutory reporting & ad hoc reports); • provide proactive finance support to internal customers; • implement, optimize and enforce standardised processes and procedures; • work with 3rd party relationship in Statutory related activities and systems controls, reporting and systems support; • ensure reporting for all legal entities is completed within scheduled timelines; • coordination of External Audit work schedules and coordinate audit work; • liaise with key parties such as internal and external audit, and other 3rd party contracted vendors for tax returns and other tax support; • ensure all other regulatory submissions are made to (Dutch) local authorities and to published timelines; • respond to statutory, tax and audit queries; • reconciliations & analysis; this includes indirect tax analysis & reviewing monthly VAT reconciliation; • support document retention in line with policy and legal requirements; • support Global Tax Office (GTO) requests with the provision of general ledger (GL) • information and for the preparation of tax returns;
