About the Job  In this role, you will report to the Global Indirect Tax Manager and you will be part of an international team based in the Netherlands and France. You will be responsible for VAT Compliance and have a VAT advisory role in relation to the Dutch entities. You will collaborate with various stakeholders such as our Integrated Business Services teams in the Netherlands and abroad, external advisors and (Dutch) tax authorities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take on tax technology projects for the Danone Group and/or initiatives in relation to tax transparency and external reporting. The role is quite broad and offers a great learning curve. The main tasks and responsibilities include: - Take end-to-end responsibility of VAT Compliance including preparation and filing of Dutch & foreign VAT returns, EC purchase lists and Intrastat returns; - Reconciliation of VAT ledgers with VAT reports;     - Manage the work done in our Integrated Business Services centre as well as external outsourced operations in the VAT compliance process; - Advice the Global Indirect Tax Manager on various Indirect Tax (VAT & Customs) projects - Maintain the Tax Control Framework for VAT and update the Dutch tax authorities on a regular basis; - Not only assist with providing tax data to the tax authorities (VAT audits) but also manage relationships with (foreign) tax authorities; - Interact and manage relationships with external service providers; - Follow-up and implement legal indirect tax changes in SAP and our way of working - Provide support, training and VAT advice to the businesses on VAT processes and new developments; - Liaise with the master data team and IS/IT team to improve processes - Report and proactively inform Finance about VAT cash flow position; - Assist in and set up new flows for VAT in SAP. About You The ideal candidate has a background in accounting and/or taxation and 4+ years of relevant experience in VAT compliance (especially, strong knowledge of the Dutch Law and EU jurisdiction). DTIF is part of the international Daimler Truck AG (DTAG) with headquarters in Stuttgart (Germany). Daimler Truck AG is one of the largest manufacturers of trucks and buses, with approximately 100,000 employees worldwide. As of 1 December 2021, DTAG will be completely separated from Mercedes-Benz AG (Passenger cars and Van division of the group) and both companies will be listed separately on the stock exchanges. Your role as a Financial Expert As a Financial Expert, you are responsible for correct and complete DTIF ledgers and sub-ledgers. Every month, you analyze the balance sheets and prepare the monthly closing and accompanying reports. You will be closely and deeply involved within all closing activities in an International Finance team. Therefore, you will be able to develop and grow into a real accounting specialist. On a daily basis, you ensure the correct processing of entries in the general ledger, you carry out various audit activities and you regularly align with other departments and entities. You will also participate in various relevant projects. In this position you will be the Accounting Specialist for DTIF and you carry out the work independently. You are part of the new DTIF team and report to the CFO. You will also work closely with the Finance Team of Daimler Truck Financial Services. This means that you will work together with an experienced team of Controllers, GL accountants and AP/AR employees. Your daily activities will include: - Drawing up memorial entries and compiling balance sheet specifications. - Timely and accurate submission of VAT returns. - Performing the monthly and annual closing and discussing the monthly results with the CFO. - Preparation of the statutory financial statements and related reports in accordance with IFRS. - Drawing up and monitoring budgets. - Preparation of the annual internal and external audit.
